Week 21 of 2011 - Classic Still Life

Rules, rules, rules: these are generally described as the sort of still life scenes typically found in paintings up through the rise of impressionism. The scenes may be a found or arranged still life. Subjects should typically be the sort of items and scenes one would find prior to the modern era. Ie. no electronics etc. The scenes should be lit by natural light, candle light, or at least look natural in their lighting. That is to say not looking like it was shot in a light box sans background, not backlit, etc. etc. etc.

Wasn't really feeling this week's theme until the sun FINALLY came out and I noticed the lilacs were blooming.

More garden - Less grass - Part 2

The grass WILL NOT die! Too much rain. Not enough heat. Some day perhaps.

Still, all the herbs are up and growing and most of the veggies have been planted.

Progress is slow here on the suburban farm.

Week 20 of 2011 - My Passion

Growing plants.

This geranium cutting was also the subject of my Week 05 of 2011 for the subject Water. Cut from a plant on my front porch in the fall of 2010 and after spending the winter rooting in a shot glass of water it was finally potted and has bloomed. Next step: outdoors for the summer!
