Fuzzy poppies getting ready

here is the row of poppies

(see "More fuzzy things")

some day they'll bloom

some day soon if it GETS WARM

but then

I mow them to the ground

and they'll come back next year

they always do...

what if I don't mow them down

then what???

will they take over my world???

I love Poppies when they bloom, but before hand they look like they should be in the little shop of horrors.

Don't mow them and you can collect the seeds...and make poppy seed bagels or muffins or heroin.

A collection of my thoughts, rants and pictures since November 22, 2008.

During the first year of my blog it was called "Something to say… everyday." That got just a bit tedious, but what else does someone unemployed have to do. The second year of my blog started out sporadic with a post whenever I got around to it but I felt I needed some kind of order. 2010 brought order when I started "A picture a week… every week" loosely following the Flickr group "52.5 of Twenty Ten." By the end of 2011 I was back in the work force so a daily thing wouldn't have worked anyway. For 2011 I decided to actually JOIN the Flickr group "52 of Twenty Eleven" and go by their rules. It was a success with 52 out of 52 pictures posted! Same goes for "52 of 2012!" Now on to "52 in 2013." OF COURSE I might post witty bits of wisdom here and there outside the photo project from time to time. (BTW: clicking on any pic will either show a larger view or go to the Flickr page of that pic.)
